Privacy Policy

1 About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Learning Block ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Learning Block iPad application ("the app"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and their families.

Learning Block is designed for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We have built the app specifically to avoid collecting any personal data.

2 Information we do NOT collect

Learning Block does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Names, email addresses, or any contact information
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioural data
• Photos, microphone, or camera data
• Payment details (handled entirely by Apple)
• Any data from children without parental consent

3 What is stored on your device

Learning Block stores the following information locally on your iPad using Apple's standard UserDefaults storage. This data never leaves your device:

• Your child's name and chosen emoji avatar
• Quiz results — which topics were answered and whether answers were correct
• Streak and star counts
• Trophy progress
• Parent settings — year group, enabled topics, quiz length, PIN, and schedule

This data can be deleted at any time from within the app via the Reset Progress option in Parent Settings, or by deleting the app entirely from your device.

4 Subscriptions and payments

Learning Block offers optional premium subscriptions. All payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see, handle, or store your payment information.

Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

To manage or cancel your subscription, go to your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

5 Third-party services

Learning Block does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app does not use:

• Google Analytics or Firebase
• Facebook SDK or any Meta services
• Crashlytics or any crash reporting services
• Any advertising networks

The only external service used is Apple's App Store for subscription management, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

6 Children's privacy

Learning Block is designed specifically for use by children aged 5–11, supervised by a parent or guardian. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.

• We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children
• The app requires no account creation or sign-in
• There are no social features, chat, or external communication tools
• There is no advertising within the app
• All data remains on the device under parental control

7 Your rights under UK GDPR

As a UK-based app, we are committed to compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Because Learning Block does not collect or process any personal data on our servers, most GDPR rights (access, portability, erasure) are exercised directly on your own device.

• Right to erasure — delete all app data using Reset Progress in Parent Settings, or by uninstalling the app
• Right to access — all data stored is visible within the app itself in the progress and settings screens
• Right to portability — data is stored locally on your device and remains under your control

8 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
